Wounded Warrior 2013
Wounded Warrior 2013 - Lieutenant James Elkins
Our first donation to the Combat Marine Outdoors, Wounded Warrior program was in 2013. Lieutenant James Elkins was the recipient. James was shot in the base of the skull by an Afghani sniper and he was lucky enough to survive. The bullet exited his right side cheek. A new 3 inch Titanium jaw was needed and he has since been medically discharged from the Rangers.
James shot a Nice Red Stag and several cull Fallow Bucks with us.
- The Red Stag was kindly donated by Morevale owners, Ian, Leila and Bryce Somerville.
Mark Harrison (Owner of Lochinvar Safaris) guided James on to his Stag and Mathew D’Ath guided James on to several cull Fallow Bucks in his own time.
- Mark Harrison and Lochinvar Safaris New Zealand donated return flights from San Antonio, Texas to New Zealand.
Lochinvar Safaris New Zealand donated the lodging, flight and baggage costs, travel insurance.
- Geoff and Ben Harding of Harding Taxidermy donated all the costs associated in expediting Michaels trophies.
